You may wonder when you can turn off your utilities in connection with your closing. Obviously, you don’t want to pay any longer than you have to. On the other hand, you don’t want to prematurely turn off your utilities particularly in the winter weather. God forbid, pipes burst. You’re going to have a much bigger problem the next day or two of utility payments. So we work with you to advise you when the optimal time is but typically, it’s the day of closing. You just need to be certain that the closing takes place on the day you think it’s going to take place and if there is any question, ask us and we’ll give you the guidance you need to make sure it’s done correctly.
