There’s no clear cut answer to that because no two accidents are alike, and no two people’s injuries are alike. You should be guided by your physician, the emergency room, or the other medical provider who’s caring for you. They know best what your situation dictates and mandates, and they know what will either help or hurt your immediate recovery.
My recommendation always is, have a frank, honest discussion with your medical provider, your physician. He or she is likely to give you the best advice.
